Squidge & Bean Review & Giveaway

I'm thrilled to introduce you all to Jemma from Squidge & Bean on Etsy.  A lovely boutique that offers knitted goodies for women, children and your home.

Many years ago in Jemma's hometown of Newcastle, England she met and feel in love with a handsome American man from Kansas City, Kansas.  Now, the American is her husband and they share their home with their two fabulous children fondly nicknamed, Squidge & Bean.

In Jemma's own words, she shares the story behind Squidge & Bean….

"During a family Christmas in England, my beautiful and wonderful mother and grandmother introduced me to the art of knitting.  They both walked me through the basics and patiently fixed my many errors as I struggled through my fist baby beanie.  The finished product was ugly, but I was hooked.  Knitting became my addiction and I can't get through the day without it.

While my children are sleeping, I use my precious spare time to run Squidge & Bean.  I design and create all of my accessories from incredible natural yarns from independent hand-spinners and hand-dyers.  I have notebooks overflowing with ideas that are waiting to be cast on.  If only there were more hours in the day.

10 Things I Know To Be True

I find it impossible to read one book at a time.
I need two cups of coffee every morning to feel human.
My favorite sound is my children's laughter.
I have a masters in Education, but I'm not sure I'll go back to teaching.
Man's greatest inventions: the wheel, the potato chip, the epidural.
It is pronounced "tom-are-toe".
Sometimes I need to listen to incredibly loud dance music.
Freshly baked bread is the greatest smell, closely followed by freshly cut grass.
My local yarn shop is my happy place.
If given the opportunity, I choose champagne."

Jemma shares her days with Squidge & Bean.  They spend their time investigating nature, making friends and marveling at the world.  When they are all tucked up in bed, she unwinds with her knitting needles and beautiful yarn.  It's her daily meditation and time to create.

Knitted Cotton Bracelets

Jemma was so sweet to send Alexa and Lillian a few treasures from her collection.

While Jemma offers some gorgeous pieces for women, her collection for little girls is just darling.  Be sure you check out her Facebook page for more.

Lillian is wearing her cream colored bow headband with stripes of pink and brown.  It's one of those headbands that can be worn with just about anything.  It can be worn casual or dress up an outfit for a special occasion.  My girls are huge fans of headbands and this is a fun and easy one to wear.

Alexa has on a cute pair of green antenna's.  They are so sweet for imaginative play or dress-up.  Jemma also sent along some adorable red and green knit hair clips.

Jemma's work is beautifully done.  She offers professional quality and an excellent selection of items for your home, children and us mama's.

If you're looking to treat yourself, be sure to visit Jemma at Squidge & Bean.
