Paperwhite Designs Review & Giveaway

I am honored to have the lovely Sarah and her amazing shop Paperwhite Designs on Mom-a-Logues today.  Sarah is an incredible inspiration to all!

I just love her story...

"The very first pom poms I made were for a display in the showroom of the special events rental shop where I used to work.  Brides would come in all the time asking if we sold them to which I would reply, "No, but I'll show you how to make them!"  For a few weeks I was holding DIY sessions with bride after bride sharing my secrets to the perfect pom.

After the encouragement of my entrepreneurial minded father, I decided to take the plunge and put them on Etsy.  I had no idea what I was getting myself into.  I had a sale on my very first dat and within 4 months I was able to quit my day job and devote all of my time to creating tissue lovelies in my basement workshop.

Paperwhite Designs is a one woman operation.  I handle everything from the production of the pom pons, ordering and inventory, social media marketing, and email correspondence to the printing of the shipping labels and post office runs.  It often feels like a circus around here, and the floors of my workshop look like Time Square after midnight on New Year's Eve, but that's what makes my job the best.  I'm surrounded by color and creativity, and there is always something new going on.

I'm constantly inspired by the creativity I see from so many of my clients in the ways they implement my products into their parties and celebrations.  I'm so thankful for Etsy and all my wonderful customers for enabling me to support my husband through graduate school all while doing something I love!"

I have always loved poms poms for decoration and party decor, however, they kind of intimidate me. The fluffing and ripping of the tissue paper just isn't something that this OCD of a mama can handle.  I've seen many tutorials on how to make your own and it just doesn't work - I'm sorry, I've tried.

So, to have Sarah offer to send me a 5 pc pom set from her collection about sent me party loving heaven!  She sent along specific step by step instructions and had them all cut an assembled.  All I needed to do was pull them apart and do the fluffing.  And you know what?  It wasn't really that all!  In fact, Alexa and Lillian got into it, too, and helped me getting them looking just right.

I can't wait to bring them out for their birthdays coming up in October or even for special photo shoots, but right now I'm loving them displayed in the book nook in the girls' bedroom.

Please forgive my horrendous photos.  I've never been able to take a good picture of this particular part of the room and the lighting is really bad with that bright pink wall color.  But, just go with can hopefully get the gist of how cute it looks.  If not, I'd love to welcome you over for a lemonade and let you have a look for yourself in person. ;)

We kinda spaced them out above their reading area and really loved how it turned out.  There wasn't quite enough room for the 3 large poms together, so we placed the pink one in another area of their room, which looks really cute, too.

If you have a special event or party coming up or would like some fun decor pieces for a nursery/child's room or front porch, you must visit Sarah at her Etsy shop, Paperwhite Designs.
